Kevin Henderson is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.  He is also a student in the program for Advanced Feminist Studies through the Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies Department at UMass.  Broadly, his academic interests include: contemporary political theory, the history of political thought; queer, feminist, and critical race theories; protest and social movements; sexual politics; history of sexuality and race; the regulation of sex and intimacy. 

In 2016, Kevin was awarded the Pi Sigma Alpha Best Teaching Assistant Award.  This award is voted upon by all political science and legal studies majors at UMass Amherst for teaching excellence. 

Kevin is the ViiV Point Scholar. In 2016, out of an applicant pool of almost three thousand students, Kevin and twenty-one other individuals were chosen to become Point Scholars. Point Foundation provides scholarships to students that have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and involvement in the advancement of the LGBTQ community.
